Research focus: Transformative Learning, Environmental sustainability, ESD, Pro environmental behaviours

Role in WeValue team

Rahel completed her PhD in 2023 under Prof. Harder at Fudan University. She focused on  applying the WeValue approach to produce targeted transformative behaviour changes in particular pro-environmental behaviour changes. Her research analyzed the WeValue InSitu processes in terms of choice spaces and introduced the concept of Nudging within its choice spaces. Through series of WeValue InSitu workshops which she facilitated, the best combination of Nudge_plus_WeValue was developed which showed useful for producing transformative pro-environmental behaviour changes. The work aligns with the wider call for the need of novel approaches that can reliably produce transformative behaviour changes for environmental sustainability.

Profile

Rahel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Curriculum Studies and Teaching/Geography, a Master’s in Environmental Management and Planning, and a PhD in Environmental Management. She is passionate about integrating innovative teaching methods and environmental awareness into educational curricula to foster informed and responsible citizenship.
