Prof. Marie Harder participated in the 3rd NUS Cities Symposium—“How Urban Science helps cities become more Liveable, Sustainable, and Resilient” in Sep 3th, 2025. She contributed as a Keynote Speaker and Panellist for “Co-creating Inclusive Cities”.

NUS Cities Symposium is a platform that brings together practitioners, researchers, and city stakeholders to exchange ideas on how urban science can support cities in becoming more liveable, sustainable, and resilient, by connecting evidence, practice, and collaborative dialogue around real urban challenges.

Prof. Marie contributed by focusing the conversation on co-creating inclusive cities through shared values within local communities. In her keynote and panel contributions, she emphasized how identifying and building on what communities value in common can guide more inclusive urban development, and how crystallizing shared values can provide a practical foundation for shaping cities that are not only liveable, but also resilient and sustainable over time. Her perspectives supported a constructive, people-centred discussion on how cities can move from broad aspirations to shared direction—grounded in community values—when designing and governing urban futures.
