Role In WeValue Team

Dr. Nduneseokwu was a PhD candidate in Professor Marie Harder’s team from 2019 to 2023. His doctoral research focused on the development of environmental leadership competencies among organizational leaders. Specifically, his work applied the WeValue InSitu approach as part of a leadership intervention for a group of managers in several multinational manufacturing companies based in China. In his research, Dr. Nduneseokwu explored the integration of leader development (individual-level) and leadership development (collective-level) within an environmental leadership intervention.

The findings of the study addressed multiple recurrent gaps in the leadership development literature and contributed to the emerging field of environmental leadership development. The research produced multilevel outcomes, including individual-level outcomes such as self-awareness, environmental leadership self-efficacy, and environmental leader identity, as well as collective-level outcomes, including a shared values framework, a shared mental model, and enhanced environmental leadership alignment and direction.

Building on these findings, Dr. Nduneseokwu intends to continue his research on the WeValue InSitu—a values-based approach—focusing on leadership development across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, as well as in community leadership practices.
