Zitong HONG is a Ph.D. student in Environmental Management at Fudan University (2026-2030) under the supervision of Professor Marie Harder. Prior to her doctoral studies, she received academic training in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Melbourne (2017-2019), and Jilin University (2011-2015).
Her previous research focused on health communication, narrative persuasion, misinformation, and public opinion, primarily using quantitative and computational approaches. At Fudan, she hopes to extend this research agenda into sustainability, with emerging interests in how values and communication shape human behavior toward sustainability. She is particularly interested in exploring how locally grounded values and participatory approaches can inform the design of culturally and contextually relevant sustainability interventions.
